Markham Thunder Volleyball Club was created in 2014 and formed with the vision and goal to provide young athletes and parents in the Markham and surrounding area with care, respect, and providing sound and proper training to each and every athlete with caring, knowledgeable, and competence coaches. Markham Thunder continues to strive to be a small club that operates and believes in the ‘close-knit’ notion where each athlete and person in the club matter, treated equally, and with the same level of care. A small club but big on possibilities.
To train and focus athletes on overall fundamental and skills development to compete in the Ontario Volleyball Association (OVA) and as well building strong connections on and off the court. Thru hard-work and dedication, enable athletes to compete to the best of their ability, building confidence, and instilling the love of the game.
In broader goals in education and development, we focus on the development of the individual and not only on the development of technical skills and mental skills to ensure safety and allowing athletes to compete to the best of their ability and at the highest level in the Ontario Volleyball Association. In addition through training and competition, athletes learn about the importance of key values such as:
- honesty,
- teamwork,
- fair play,
- respect for themselves and others, and
- adherence to rules.
