Toronto Thunder volleyball women club started in the summer of 2009 with a core group of close friends and a coach who shared and believed in the same vision of hard-work and dedication on and off the court. The goal is to work hard, train hard, and compete to the best of their ability in the annual Labour Day weekend, known as the North American Chinese Invitational Volleyball Tournament (NACIVT) with history and tradition dated back to 1930’s; rotating host cities annually between Boston, Los Angeles, Montreal, New York, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington. The club start training in mid-April to September with practice twice a week over the course of the summer with indoor and outdoor training to compete in various local tournaments leading up to the annual NACIVT tournament.
In addition to providing strong technical and skills training, the club vision is to continues to provide opportunity for girls who are passionate about volleyball to join and celebrating the NACIVT tradition, Chinese culture, and building friendship. Thunder continues to strive to be a well-respected and competitive club within the NACIVT and the Toronto Chinese Volleyball Community and developing good and character athletes on and off the court. 2018 Toronto Thunder Volleyball Club celebrated it’s 10 years anniversary.
Our aim is to continues to grow and will be looking to fill 3 teams for the upcoming 2019 season with good character, hard-working, and passionate individual to join our volleyball club and participating in the NACIVT.
